Dear Parents and Caregivers,
A big thank you to our Year 1 parents for engaging in online consultations with our Mandarin teaching team. This week was also special for our choir students, who joined the ESF collective for a fantastic Choir Jam at Quarry Bay School!
Important Safety Drills: Evacuation and Lockdown
On Monday, we successfully completed our evacuation drill. All 1000+ students and staff were evacuated and accounted for in 15 minutes! This is a significant exercise we practice twice annually. As mentioned previously, we'll be practising our lockdown procedures next week. During a lockdown, students and staff remain in classrooms, doors are locked, and everyone stays calm and quiet until an "all clear" is given. These drills are vital to practice so we are always ready in case any situation arises.
Year 6 Exhibition
Our Year 6s are hard at work preparing for their final exhibition at Kennedy School on 18 June. Many of them are taking action to support different causes. Please have a look at this folder to explore and support their endeavours.
Foundation-wide Activities
We are so excited about our student contributions at two foundation-wide events this June. 15 students from Years 5 and 6 will be participating in the ESF Evening of Dance held at West Island School next Wednesday evening on 11 June. And 7 pieces of artwork by Kennedy students will be on display at the ESF Art Exhibition at City Hall in Central from 19-22 June. Read more details about this event below.
Streamlined Bus Management via the ESF App
A reminder to use the Bus button on our ESF App for all bus attendance messages. This ensures smooth coordination for everyone involved. Please send any bus attendance changes through the app by 12 noon on the day of travel.

Please Return School Resources
With the holidays approaching, we're collecting all school resources. If you have library books, home readers, or any other school materials at home that were assigned by a teacher, please send them back to school. This helps us organise and prepare them for future students. Thank you for your help!
Box of Hope - Impact Report
Every year, Kennedy School supports the Box of Hope, a local charity, to collect about 1000 boxes for children in need in Hong Kong and the region. If you are interested in learning about how the charity organised this, please have a look at their Impact Report for 2024. We will be supporting this charity again next term. Do look out for details then.
Kind regards,
Brenda

Diary Date - Year 4 Swim Gala
The Year 4 Swim Gala will take place on Friday 20 June from 9.00 am to 12 noon at HKU Henry Fok Swimming Pool (opposite our school). All parents of Year 4 swimmers are welcome to attend. Our Year 6 elite swimming group will perform a very short showcase of their talents then as well. Here they are being trained by Pacific Swim Coaches at WIS in training this week. Video
Football Friendly
On Tuesday, we hosted ESF Glenealy in a Year 4 and Year 5 boys and girls friendly match. Our two girls teams played really well and scored lots of goals in the morning session. Our boys team also had a successful morning and played some great attacking football. Thank you to our Year 6 Sports Ambassadors Chloe Spensley, Alberto Chan, Aaden Yeung, Oliver Siu, Hathor Xu and Braden Lefler for coming to referee the games. The Sports Ambassadors did an excellent job allowing the game to flow and keeping the teams playing in good spirit.
Cricket Friendly Match
This afternoon, 3 Kennedy Cricket teams (A, B and C) are playing friendly matches against ESF Glenealy. This is another great opportunity for all of our girls and boys to play in competitive matches against another school. Our batting, bowling and fielding skills have really improved in the time that our players have trained together, and this together with our Kennedy team spirit makes our teams so successful. Well done everyone!
Important Note - Sports Clubs end this week
This week was the last week of our staff-run Kennedy Sports Clubs for Term 3. Only our Dance and Movement Club will have one more session on Thursday 12 June. Thank you to all of the staff who have given up their time to help to provide the fantastic sporting opportunities we offer at our school.
Good luck Kennedy Aquathon Squad
This Saturday, our swimmers and runners will be competing against 15 other Hong Kong international schools in the HKPSSA Aquathon at KGV. In this race, students will swim 250 m in the pool, then run 1000 m to the finish line. Good luck to all of our girls and boys and thank you to Mr Bogaerde for preparing our team. Go Kennedy!
Congratulations Josie, Natalie and Lawrence!
Josie Li (2D) participated in the HK Annual Championship on Saturday, making it all the way to the semi-finals. She had a close match and lost 12-14, earning the title of 3rd runner-up. It was a great opportunity for her to connect with friends and players from other schools, and she gained valuable insights from the experience.
Natalie Tso (4D) technique and skill have really started to shine and it is lovely to see her develop in our school golf ECA too. Last weekend, she participated in The Clearwater Bay Golf Academy Trophy 2025 and won 2nd Runner-up for the 7-10 years old age group. Despite the hot weather, Natalie enjoyed the game and she is very happy with her achievement.
Laurence Hyde (4K) and his U10 Hong Kong Boas team won the Jockey Club Primary Athletes Football Competitions recently. Additionally, his U9 team won the 2025 Duan Jie Football Tournament last weekend. Laurence also set a new U12 record of 3:53.54 in the 1000-meter cross-country race at the 2025 Buffco Summer Track Series on 9 May. Well done Laurence!
McColl: A very “scumbling” experience had by all Year 4’s!
Year 4 students explored the art of “scumbling” with local artist Ms. El McColl, a technique used by masters like Leonardo da Vinci. With creativity and focus, they crafted stunning paintings of pears, learned hands-on while having fun. This special session was made possible by the Dress in Your Favourite Colours Day, sponsored by the PTA. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this artistic adventure!
