Dear Parents,
Happy Diwali
Wishing all families a very happy and joyous Diwali this week. The Diwali assembly on Thursday was entirely led by students and made possible by a dedicated group of parent volunteers. The students did a fabulous performance and seemed to enjoy the teacher dance including a handstand by Mr Lynch (1L). Special thanks to Garima from the PTA for supporting our community and ensuring this event was celebrated together. We hope some of you enjoyed the livestream at home or in the office. My Mum (Gee Gee) and Aunt Lexie watched the assembly from Australia and loved it. The assembly can be viewed HERE. Garima has also kindly shared some Diwali art resources for all to enjoy.
PTA community coffee morning
We hope to continue to host coffee mornings in school for parents with the support of the PTA. It was lovely to welcome some parents this week and meet over coffee. The morning was relaxed and informal, please consider joining us next time. Please register for the next session HERE. I am aware that our community needs to rebuild after a prolonged pandemic. I support the PTA in their efforts to connect parents in person.
Start of the school day
Thank you to all parents for ensuring your child/ren arrive at school by 8.15 am. Please be reminded that the school gates close at 8.15 am (on the bell). Students arriving after this time must register their attendance in Reception. All lessons begin promptly at 8.15 am daily. Your continued cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Unit of inquiry reports
At various times throughout the academic year, your child’s teacher will issue a unit of inquiry report. This report will provide you with progress feedback about your child’s learning within a specific unit of inquiry. You will receive a specific year level message with a link to the report via the ESF app when your child’s unit of inquiry report is available online. We encourage parents to access these reports when they are released. If you need any assistance with this process please contact one of the Vice Principals - Mrs Sheward (Year 5/6); Mr Dray (Year 3/4); and Ms Lee (Year 1/2).
It has been another busy and productive week of learning at Kennedy School. I have been delighted to see everyone bringing in Boxes of Hope. Our community collected a total of 1,130 boxes which is an extraordinary effort. Thank you for encouraging your child to be involved in meaningful action at Kennedy for those less fortunate.
As always, my door is open to parents. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can assist you with any aspect of your child’s school life.
Have a relaxing weekend.
Mina

There will be a big chest in the playground front of 1L's classroom to collect them in.
