Dear Parents,
There has been a wonderful buzz across the school this week. I have had some of our local neighbourhood residents express how happy they feel to hear the sounds of school life return to Kennedy. Everyone is genuinely happy to be at school after so many months of online learning. The children have settled quickly into routines with teachers and peers. I am extremely proud of the children. I have enjoyed being in and around the classrooms this week - lessons are focussed, engaging and moving the learning on. It was fantastic to go over to the HKU pitches on Thursday for Year 2 games and see the children outdoors, playing and enjoying being together. My skills need work though - 2B scored 25+ points during my stint as goal keeper!
We have welcomed some new staff this week. Nurse Brigette has joined the team and will be in the Medical Room on Thursdays and Fridays each week. Welcome to new Educational Assistants: Mayflor Joscon (2S), Reshma Beed (2W), Jake Martin (2B) and Mary Puentespina (3S). These colleagues will introduce themselves to you in the next newsletter.
Reminder
Please ensure you have logged your child’s daily RAT and temperature before school (not the night before) and ensure that you have logged your child’s daily RAT and temperature before school. We are unable to accept any student for in-school lessons without this important RAT record in the ESF app. Parents will be contacted to collect their child from school if the RAT is incomplete in the app. Please do not forget to do this daily at home.
To avoid this from happening, here are a few tips to ensure your child’s record has been successfully completed:
After you complete the RAT record, it is a good idea to shut the app and open again to check it has been completed. If you see the spinning wheel, this may indicate it is not complete. If your submission is complete, you will see a date and time stamp. Please note: the cutoff time for submission at our school is 8.15am daily.
If you have more than one child, please complete the record for both children and double check.
When in doubt, you may take a screenshot of the form.
Staff will continue to work within the EDB/ESF guidelines which means we need every child to do their daily RAT - I thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
I am looking forward to a positive and productive Term 3. My door is always open to parents, please do not hesitate to contact me if you need assistance with any aspect of your child’s school life.
Have a great weekend.
Regards,
Mina

OFFICE NOTICES
PARENT VOLUNTEERS FOR SNACK TIME SUPERVISION AT STANLEY HO SPORTS CENTRE
Starting from Monday 25 April, children from Year 3 and Year 5 have the opportunity to go across to Stanley Ho Sports Centre during their first snack time. This is a hugely popular activity with the children.
To enable us to supervise the children, we need some volunteer parents who are willing to come across with us one or more days a week. The time commitment is 10.40 am to 11.20 am each day.
If we get two or three mums/dads who can commit to a day each week that would be fabulous.
For the safety of the children, we will request that parent helpers must be fully vaccinated and complete a Rapid Antigent Test with a negative test result on the morning before coming to school. We will also request that parent helpers scan their vaccine pass, take their temperature in the office and complete the health declaration form.
Please fill in this Google Form if you are able to help and your help is much appreciated.
