Dear Parents,

We had a fun finish to the week and celebrated our community by wearing our house colours. Thank you to the Kennedy PTA and our Year 6 student leaders for making Kennedy School Colour Day a huge success. I did my very best to be Queen of the Kennedy Houses and wear every colour and my special crown.

Another PTA event next Friday 10 June is the annual PTA quiz night! Please watch this short video from Mr Dray and Mr King to find out how to join in some fun with other parents and staff.

Congratulations to all of our Year 5 students on a very successful mini exhibition. The students showed fantastic knowledge of their unique civilisations and shared their learning with the Year 4 students. Everyone was impressed by the levels of creativity and the range of learning in the exhibition.

Farewell to staff

The community will bid farewell to some wonderful staff at the end of this term. These colleagues will be leaving Hong Kong after many years and relocating to new countries with their families. On behalf of Kennedy’s community, I would like to extend sincere gratitude to all of these colleagues for their dedication, loyal service and contribution to the school community over many years. They will be missed by everyone. Best wishes to:

Vice Principal recruitment

The community will also farewell Ms Yoon-Ah Lee (Vice Principal) at the end of Term 1 2022/2023. Ms Lee will return to Australia after many years of international school teaching. A farewell for Ms Lee will take place later in the year.

Next Tuesday (7/6) a candidate for the Vice Principal position will be in school for a series of panel interviews which will involve stakeholders. Further details about the candidate and Vice Principal recruitment process will follow. Please watch the app for details.

Welcome to new staff

In August 2022 the community will welcome some new teachers. All of these teachers are looking forward to joining the school community and were delighted to be appointed to various teaching positions. These new colleagues have written a personal introductory message.

Vaccination rates

Please continue to update the ESF App with your child’s COVID-19 vaccination status. ESF respects that it is a parental choice to vaccinate their child. Should our school reach 90% of all students double vaccinated, a full school day resumption will be possible (i.e. 8.20 am to 2.50pm daily). We appeal to all parents to keep updating the ESF App when a child’s vaccination status changes.

Currently we have 57% of students double vaccinated and 25% of students with one vaccination.

School Bus Service

Registration for the school bus service for the new school year 2022/23 is open. Please register by 10 June 2022 to secure a spot on the buses.

School Uniform

Please place your uniform orders by 30 June 2022. The school uniform shop is expected to be very busy in July and August, so deliveries may take 7 to 10 days.

Join us for a fun evening as our resident Quiz Masters, Mr Dray and Mr King, put us through our paces with fun and challenging questions - a touch of General Knowledge, Music, Movies to name but a few…………..

We have a few teams on the lookout for teammates, and are happy to help group people together. It is a perfect opportunity to get to know new people amongst our community.
