Dear Parents,
Meet the Teacher
Next Tuesday, the students will meet their teachers for the 2022/2023 academic year. You will receive the details of your child's new class and teacher on the same day via email. As previously communicated, no current classes will be mixed and all classes will be promoted to the next year level without any mixing of students. In addition, an overview of all teaching placements will be shared with parents prior to the summer break.
Year 4 and 5 Camps
I am pleased the staff were able to arrange day camps for the Year 4 and Year 5 students. Thank you to all parents for supporting the camps. It has been a challenging year for all and camps are an important part of developing a child's independence and confidence away from their normal school routines. In recent weeks, the Year 5 students attended 'day camps' and enjoyed a wide range of outdoor educational activities. The Year 5 students had an opportunity to participate in experiences not provided in school which will help them to build readiness for the residential camp at Outward Bound in Year 6. The Year 4s attended day camp this week. I joined the Year 4 camp and enjoyed the experience with students. The students had so much fun participating in a range of adventure challenges for the day.
Modifications to end of year events
Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, it has been necessary to modify the format of some end of year celebrations (e.g., graduation and assemblies). This will help to avoid large group gatherings at this time. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause. Given the circumstances, we hope everyone understands.
Thank you to the PTA
I was grateful to receive a surprise presentation by Natasha Petit O’Connor (PTA Chair) and Fiona Bulmer (PTA Coordinator) this week. Thank you to all parents for the gesture - I was touched by the kindness and thoughtfulness. One of the most special aspects of Kennedy is its strong community identity and the PTA are crucial in this area of school life. I look forward to hearing about the continued development of the community in future.
The final week of the school year is rapidly approaching. I would like to extend my very best wishes to all of our Year 6 students as they enjoy their final week of primary school before moving on to their next phase of learning.
Have a lovely weekend.

Congratulations Dragons as they are crowned House of the Year 2021-22!!
Last year’s champions, Phoenix, were first out of the gates at the start of the year with the biggest haul of points, but Dragons dug deep and took the lead towards the end of the year.
Well done Dragons and well done to all Kennedy School children who worked so hard for their respective houses!
Many thanks to the parents of the Quarry Bay School PTA who visited us with special gifts for Mrs Dunstan. Thank you!!!
School Bus Service
There is no automatic renewal of the school bus service for the next academic year. If you wish to use the bus service next term, please register as soon as possible to secure a seat on the buses.

School Uniform
Please place your uniform orders by 30 June 2022. As the school uniform shop is expected to be very busy in July and August, deliveries may take 7 to 10 days.
Size conversion chart
The new Kennedy School uniforms are sized differently from the old school uniforms. Please check the uniform conversion table on each page before placing your order. This conversion table will tell you the new size equivalent for an old uniform product.
If in doubt, please refer to the school uniform guidelines below:
Uniform donations
The PTA is still taking uniform donations, so if you have items in good condition and wish to donate them, please bring them to the PTA Office or drop them off at the school reception during school hours.
Uniform 'Sales Item page' suspended from 18 to 24 June
The Sales Item page on the school uniform site will be suspended from 18 to 24 June for stock taking. The New ESF uniform pages will continue to operate during this period.
A huge thank you to all our families for your support of PTA led activities and events during this school year. We would also like to thank our network of class parents who have been a wonderful support to the school and parents throughout the year.
Here is a simple reminder in pictures of some of the fun we have had this year - and in case you missed it, the link to the wonderful Kennedy School Colours Day photo album.

Dear KS Community,
Thank you for all your support this year.
Tetrapaks
We have become the school with the most tetra pak recycling in Hong Kong by a wide margin. Since August, we collected 400 kg of tetrapaks. Well done everyone!
Our last collection will be on Monday 20 June. Let’s make it our largest one-day collection!
Which House collected the most tetrapaks this year? All Houses were neck in neck throughout the year but the final results are below. Well done Unicorns!
Community Recycling
We continue to encourage families to take their recycling to the community recycling centres in the Green@Community Recycling network. So far, we have saved more than 620 kg from the landfill and I am sure we can double this over the summer holidays! Check this CHART for our progress.
Check this LIST for the 8 types of materials you can recycle there. These include plastics, appliances, metal, styrofoam, etc.
Contribute to your house collection by scanning your Unicorn QR Code on arrival at any of these recycling stations HERE.
Please save this QR code onto your phone and show this when you go!
Have a wonderful holiday and look out for more updates from the Kennedy School green community next term.
