Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Book Week
The children will be involved in a lot of fun activities during Book Week which will take place next week. Many year groups have already had authors come and speak to them to inspire them to be creative writers and avid readers. We have decided to postpone the ‘dress-up’ day for Book Week until Term 3 as we have so many other things on around this time and we are conscious not to overload everyone. We will keep you updated on a new date.
General Health and Self-Care
It will be no surprise to you that since the removal of masks, we have seen an increase in cold-like symptoms among staff and students. It will take us time to build our immunity back up and when we move from this changeable weather, we will likely see a decline in these symptoms.
One aspect we are noticing is that some children are forgetting to use hygienic practices to take care of themselves. To help stop the spread of germs, please remind and show your child how to:
Cover their mouth and nose with a tissue when they cough or sneeze and then throw used tissues in the rubbish bin. If they don't have a tissue, they should cough or sneeze into their elbow, not their hands.
Wipe their nose, discard the tissue and wash their hands afterwards.
Wash their hands thoroughly before eating and after going to the bathroom.
Many thanks for your help with this.
Information Webinars and Open Day
Later this month, we will be hosting 2 information webinars and an in-person Open Day for prospective families. If you have friends or family interested in learning more about Kennedy School, please invite them to join us.
Celebration of Learning and Three-Way Conferences on March 24
The children can wear comfortable clothing for the 3-way conferences. They are not required to wear their school uniform.

The school will be open from 8.10 am to begin at 8.15 am.
All classrooms and learning areas around the school will close at 4 pm.
Don’t forget it’s Dress Green day tomorrow. Please see the PTA section for more details.

We will collect voluntary donations of $20. Students may hand their donation in as they arrive at school that day.
Year 3 are saving up to use the funds raised to subsidise an exciting Robotics Art / Science workshop. Thank you for your support in advance!
