Farewell to Lauren Bright - Teacher -5B
Sadly we farewell Lauren from Kennedy school as she is moving to Europe. Lauren is a warm, caring and positive person who offers so much to our school and the children she works with. Although relatively new in her career, Lauren has shown she is an outstanding teacher setting highly engaging learning for students and building great connections with the children she works with. I’m sure you will join me in wishing Lauren all the very best. Hong Kong is home for Lauren so I’m sure she’ll be back to see us soon.
Catriona Woodall a KS teacher who has been on leave for terms 1 and 2 will return to Kennedy to teach 5B. We look forward to welcoming Cat back to the KS community.
Thank you!
A huge thanks to you all for being part of and helping out in so many of the events and activities this term. We really appreciate your support.
The children are very tired, as are the staff so we’re all looking forward to having a recharge over the holidays. I hope you also have a chance to unwind a bit too.

Term 3 begins at the usual time on Monday 17th April. See you all back then!

PTA AGM
The PTA held its Annual General Meeting on March 28th. We reflected on the past PTA year starting with the dark days of COVID in March 2022 - and how we endeavoured as a committee to keep our Kennedy School spirit and community alive for the students, parents and teachers. I feel that we have come out fighting and have achieved so much since. Thank you again to our PTA committee for making our “dreams” happen through your hard work and dedication.
A big thank you to our PTA coordinator Fiona Bulmer who is the backbone of the PTA operation and the chief executor of all that we “dream” to do as a committee. Also a big thank you to Brenda Cook for really positively embracing what we do and endlessly being a strong supporter of our initiatives.
We thank Sarah Ng who has stepped down for her drive and enthusiasm and welcome new PTA Committee members Christina Boase and Julie Tran.
I am humbled and pleased to be once again appointed as your Chairperson for the next school year. I will endeavour to lead and accomplish even more for our school community. It is an honour to represent the wonderful parent community at Kennedy School.
Natasha Petit O’Connor, PTA Chair 2022/24
As part of the AGM, we enjoyed a photographic celebration of all the PTA has been involved with over the past year. What a year it has been!
Hot School Lunches - an update
Due to the ongoing nature of the ESF tender process, the introduction of a hot lunch delivery service needs to be deferred. We hope to introduce this at the start of the Autumn Term.
Please continue to send food in with your child in their school bag. We cannot accept food deliveries during the school day.

PTA Parent Coffee Morning - “Technology at Kennedy School”
Friday 5th May, 8:20am - 9:30am
Join us for an informative talk by our office and IT team to learn how to use the following technology tools - ESF App, VLE, Gateway and Seesaw - to learn, organise and inform all stakeholders about your child. This is thoroughly recommended to parents who are relatively new to ESF. Also hear from our Senior Leadership Team with updates.
Register to attend here.
Hockey Tournament
Last Friday, the Kennedy Hockey Team performed really well in the HKPSSA Hockey Tournament at HKFC. On a hot day, our mixed boys and girls team showed resilience and skill to win many matches against other international schools in Hong Kong. Our Hockey squad has trained throughout the year and will continue to do so in Term Three. This club is available to students in Year 4, 5 and 6. Thank you to Coach Saatchi for training the players to such a high standard. See photos of the event here.
Friendly Football
On Tuesday, Kennedy School hosted ESF Glenealy School in a series of thrilling friendly Football matches at HKU Sandy Bay. Our teams were made up of students from the Y2/3 multisport club that has been so successful in getting our young students active. Thank you to Ms Barrington for her help in running the club and well done to all of the students who performed brilliantly on the day. It was fantastic to see our budding footballers smiling in victory, draw and defeat. Please see the photographs here.
Basketball Tournament
We are awaiting news from KGV School to see if the Basketball tournament will be rescheduled. We will be in touch with the Basketball Squad once we receive an update.
This is a reminder for all students to return our Kennedy Sports Kits. Please bring this back to the school gym on Friday (31 March) or on the first day back after the holidays.
Games Programme
Our Games programme will continue for two more weeks after the holidays, then we will move onto the Summer Swimming Programme. I will send out more information about the swim programme in the next newsletter.
Thank you to the parents and staff for your support during a sporty and extremely busy term.
Kennedy Sports Wall of Fame
We hope that our students remain active during the two week holiday. Mr Bogaerde and I will create a "Kennedy Sports Wall of Fame" display in the gym showcasing our students taking part in physical activities outside of school.
If you would like to share any photographs of your child being active please label the photographs with your child's name and class and add the photographs using this google form.
Birthday Books
Thank you for celebrating your birthdays with us! By ordering a Birthday Book for the library, your child will have a lovely legacy for other students to enjoy for years to come.
