Dear Parents and Caregivers,
The staff and students came back happy and relaxed after a lovely long break away from school. Many people got to reconnect with family and friends and commented that things are starting to feel ‘back to normal’. It’s a great feeling!
Eid Mubarak to all our families celebrating Eid this weekend.
Staffing
Welcome back to Catriona (Cat) Woodall who is teaching 5B until the end of the term.
Masks
It’s been some time since the mask mandate was lifted. We are encouraging children to be mask free in school so we can hear their comments, see their faces and enable them to make strong interpersonal and social connections. We encourage you to build your child’s confidence in having mask-free time. We will be asking all children to remove masks when playing outside, and when doing PE and games. We will also be encouraging students to lower their masks when contributing to discussions in the classroom. It will take small steps to make some children feel confident to do so and your help would be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to contact any members of the leadership team, you will find us in the playground or you can locate our emails on the ESF APP. You can email me at bcook@kennedy.edu.hk.
Kind regards,
Brenda

Final week of Games...
Please note that next week will be our final Games session for this year. To celebrate the end of the Games lessons, the students in Years 4, 5 and 6 will have lots of fun playing sports against each other in a friendly Inter House Tournament against their classmates across their respective Year groups. In Years 1, 2 and 3 the students will take part in a series of fun Games led by the teachers with their classmates.
Swimming coming soon...
After the Games unit has finished, our Swimming programme will commence the week of May 2nd. If your child has not been swimming since Term One, I recommend that you try to use the opportunity now to refamiliarise your child with swimming so that they feel more comfortable before our swimming unit begins.
More swimming information including the Summer Swimming schedule will be posted in next week's newsletter.
Term 3 Clubs have begun...
It is fantastic to see that many of our students continue to take up the sporting opportunities on offer at Kennedy School. This term, we offer Cricket, Hockey, Multisports and Netball clubs as well as our Swimming and Aquathlon trials. Once the trials have concluded, I will be in touch to offer places to the selected students for the respective clubs.
Kennedy Sports Wall of Fame...
Thank you for the many great photos we have received for our Kennedy Sports Wall of Fame display. This display in the gym will be updated regularly, showcasing our students taking part in physical activities outside of school.
If you would like to share any photographs of your child being active, please label the photographs with your child's name and class and add the photographs using this google form.
As part of our ESF community, we would like to invite you to the WIS Bazaar on Saturday, 22 April 2023.
The WIS Bazaar is a private fundraising initiative of the school; therefore, on arrival at the entrance, kindly sign in indicating your connection with ESF (i.e. ESF Kennedy School) and your child’s name.
This is one of our most awaited events when we can spend time together in a relaxed, cheerful environment enjoying food, music, games and shopping. Your support and participation is greatly appreciated.
We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting event.
