Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Year 3 Chinese Assembly
A huge thank you to the Chinese Department, students, and staff for the amazing assembly yesterday! The children were confident and enthusiastic as they entertained the audience with their poetry, singing, spoken lines and drama, dancing, gymnastics and learning from their classroom lessons. Thanks to all the families who attended, it was a wonderful celebration of the hard work and dedication that goes into the Chinese programme at Kennedy School. We look forward to more incredible events in the future!
Here are some photos taken of this wonderful event:

Swimming - please book your child’s place
You will have received my letter on the ESF APP about swimming for 2023/4. It’s important that we receive your information so we can secure swimming for your child. We have already received an overwhelming response to this fabulous opportunity.
We hire an experienced external swim coaching company to teach swimming to our students who assess and teach the children in small ability groups according to their needs. There are 5 qualified experienced swim coaches working with our students in every class for each lesson so it is very individualised. We have witnessed significant progress in students' skills and abilities in the water as they progress though their lessons.
If you would like to contact any members of the leadership team, you will find us in the playground or you can locate our emails on the ESF APP. You can email me at bcook@kennedy.edu.hk.
Kind regards,
Brenda

Reminder: Join the virtual audience for ESF’s largest inter-school Esports Tournament this weekend (3-4 June 2023)
In last week's newsletter, you would have read about the forthcoming ESF inter-school Esports Tournament.
Congratulations to Charlie Booth (Year 5) and Zeph Fryer, Ethan Loo & Harper Fischer (all Year 4) who have been selected to represent Kennedy School at this Sunday's (4 June) competition. The children have been working hard by crafting their Minecraft, communication and collaboration skills in order to prepare themselves for the event. The team have called themselves the 'KS Hotdogs' and will be recognisable in their custom gaming kit and will be supported by the team commentator. Watch them from 10 am to 4 pm on the live- stream on the ESF Facebook page!

The swimming gala is part of the Year 6 swimming programme and will conclude the Summer Swimming Programme for the year and is a celebration of the Kennedy School students’ swimming ability. Each child will be given the opportunity to enter races at a level to match their ability.

Kennedy Cricket Champions!
Congratulations to the Kennedy Cricket Team for becoming the HKPSSA Cricket Champions. Our boys and girls played some magnificent cricket at Kings Park on Wednesday and were unbeaten through the group stage defeating AISHK, Kellett KB and RCHK. In the final we met Kellett PFL and our cricketers prevailed in the heat in a thoroughly entertaining final. The team played with great spirit and style and showed great perseverance in such difficult conditions. How's that!

Netballers in Friendly Action
Last Thursday our Netball squad players visited International Montessori School to play some friendly netball matches, both schools were eager to get together and enjoy some healthy competition.
Both Kennedy teams showed great teamwork and netball skills, scoring some exciting goals while showcasing their athletic abilities. It was clear that our players were very proud of their efforts and the sportsmanship they demonstrated throughout each match. It was lovely to see the players celebrate with each other after each well-played game. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Beautiful sunrises, imaginative self-portraits and a six-metre-long rainbow-bright collage - these are just some of the amazing student creations featured in our upcoming ESF Art Exhibition 2023, which takes place at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre from June 7 - 11. Across ESF, our students have been truly inspired by this year’s art theme, which is Reimagining: New Beginnings.
In response to this thought-provoking topic, our talented children have created an outstanding collection of artworks spanning painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.
Please do join us for this wonderful celebration of creativity. The venue address is Exhibition Gallery, Level 4, Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The exhibition runs from June 7 until 11 (6 pm - 8 pm on 7 June; 9 am until 8 pm from 8 - 10 June and 9 am until 6 pm on 11 June).
