Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Having a glimpse of learning around the school in the last couple of days, despite the weather was such an enjoyable experience. The Year 1s were enthralled in their shopping experience - moving between the 5 classes looking at and having a chance to buy bespoke creations they had made together. We think we have a great bunch of little entrepreneurs in Year 1! They are looking forward to sorting out all the play money and linking this to mathematics concepts.
Lots of music and activity were happening in the hall today too as the Year 6 students prepare for their end-of-year show. Year 5s are loving their civilisation unit and tomorrow are celebrating the Mylandia civilisations they have created. Kids were super active in PE too and enjoyed the challenges of gymnastics and parkour combined. In another Year 4 class, the children were writing persuasive texts convincing their teacher they needed class pets! It’s all go!
It is fabulous to see such wonderful learning happening in every class - this was just a small sample!

You will have received my letter on the ESF APP about swimming for 2023/4. It is important that we receive your information so we can secure swimming for your child. We have already received an overwhelming response to this fabulous opportunity.
If you would like to contact any members of the leadership team, you will find us in the playground or you can locate our emails on the ESF APP. You can email me at bcook@kennedy.edu.hk.

Year 5 Super Swimmers!
Well done to our Year 5 Swim Squad students this week. On Tuesday, we travelled to Discovery College for the Year 5 swim competition.
The competition was fierce and our students showed great determination, perseverance, and a strong team spirit throughout the day. The event was a great opportunity for the students to showcase their skills and an opportunity to interact and bond with students from other schools, fostering a sense of community and sportsmanship.
Our swimmers performed exceptionally well, with several of them winning swimming races in their respective categories.
Overall, the swimming competition was a great success for every school involved as it provided the students with a valuable learning experience.
Congratulations to all the swimmers involved, we look forward to seeing more of such competitions in the future!
The swim times for our students can be found here.
Swimming
Next week is the final week of our Summer Swimming programme. The schedule is as follows:
We will conclude this year's swimming with the Year 6 Swim Gala on Friday, 16 June. Our Year 6 students have selected the races they wish to enter and we look forward to an exciting morning at HKU pool. As the students are scoring points for their House we are encouraging the students to wear swim hats in their House colours.
If you are available to help with the Swim Gala races please let me know by completing this form.
Term 3 Clubs
Aquathon, Cricket and Multi-Sports have now concluded for the year. It has been a fantastic winning term for the cricketers and our multi-sports club has gained valuable experience in training for the future. Unfortunately, due to the recent wet weather, we had to cancel our planned friendly matches but we have developed our skills that will no doubt help us when events start again in the autumn term.
Swimming and Netball Club have their last session on Wednesday 14th June and Hockey Club on Tuesday 20th June.
Finally - Good luck to the Kennedy School Aquathon Squad on Saturday at KGV and to our Year 6 Swim Squad next week at Discovery College too. Go Kennedy!
Yearband Led Dress Up Day - Friday 16th June
Next Friday 16 June will be the final Yearband led Dress Up Day for the year. The Year 1s would like to invite everyone to come to school wearing their FAVOURITE OUTFIT. Please send a donation of $20 which will be put towards a doodle art lesson with Katie Flowers from Wild at Art.
