Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As we approach the end of the Academic Year, we are already preparing for a smooth start to the 2023/4 Academic Year.
Class placements have been completed for next year. Unlike last year, where classes stayed the same due to COVID-19 disruptions, we will be reverting to our previous practice of shuffling the children each year to be with new peers in their year group. Our teachers have worked closely together to ensure that the class placements are a good fit for everyone.
On Monday June 26th, the students will have an opportunity to meet their new classmates and teachers. Your child will receive a hard copy introduction letter from their new teacher, outlining any stationery that needs to be purchased for Years 3 to 6. The letter will also provide details about PE days when they will wear their sports kit.
Staff Leavers
As the year comes to a close, we will be saying goodbye to a number of our wonderful staff. This week, we will farewell four dedicated staff members who have made a significant impact at our school. Jacqueline Gourlay Grant, Anita Ng, Aruna Chainani and Rob Sweet have served our school and the wider community for over 10 years - with two having served for over 20 years each. We appreciate their contributions and wish them all the best.
Please click on any of the images below to find out more about these amazing staff members.
Kind regards,
Brenda

Proposed Admiralty Station Bus Stop Survey
We are exploring the possibility of adding a new bus stop to our existing school bus service route. This bus will pick students up from Admiralty Station.
Pick up time: 7.30 am
It will be the first stop of the route and students should arrive at the bus stop a few minutes before the designated pick-up time. The bus is unable to wait for latecomers due to layout of the station area.
For your information, we currently have 2 other pick-up locations at the following locations and times:
· Kennedy Town MTR - 7.52 am
· HKU station A1 Exit - 7.54 am
In order for us to gauge the demand for this additional Admiralty Station bus stop, please fill in this Google form:

We are hoping to start this new service if we have sufficient interest for this bus pick up location, in the new academic year in August 2023.
Well done to the Kennedy Aquathon and Swim Squads!
Recently, our students took part in the HKPSSA Aquathon at KGV on Saturday 10th June and the Year 6 Swim Meet at Discovery College on Tuesday 13th June.
The students represented Kennedy School to the highest of standards throughout the morning, displaying wonderful sportsmanship, individual athleticism and team work!
Please find below the HKPSSA Aquathon Challenge Results, and use your child's race number & symbol from the race.

Swimming Programme
Our Summer Swimming Programme has now concluded.
Fingers crossed that the weather is fine tomorrow, Friday 16 June for our Year 6 Swim Gala. If parents are coming to spectate, please be at HKU pool in the spectator area upstairs at the back of the pool for the races from 9.00 am - 12.00 pm. If we are unable to hold the event due to the weather, we will reschedule the event and be in touch with further details.
Thank you to our Kennedy Swim coaches for their help in training our students to be ready for these events. We are very lucky to be able to build such strong swimmers at Kennedy as part of our PE programme.
A number of Kennedy School children in Year 3 and 4 have pursued their interest in chess, participating in 2 interschool tournaments this month. The children did Kennedy proud winning 1st place in Division 2 at the Hong Kong TCA Scholastic Championship. At the Malvern College Hong Kong Open’s Annual Scholastic Chess tournament, both the Under 8 and Under 10 groups were placed 4th. Well done to all the students, with a special mention to Zayne Tong (1K) who competed in the U8 category.
Yearband Led Dress Up Day - Friday 16th June
Tomorrow will be the final Yearband led Dress Up Day for the year. Please come to school in your FAVOURITE OUTFIT! Please send a donation of $20 which will be put towards a doodle art lesson for the Year 1s with Katie Flowers from Wild at Art.
ESF Webinar: Neurodiversity: Including All
ESF held a webinar on 6 June where ESF Educational Psychologists Dr Rachael Edwards and Dr Rosie Thomasson explained how ESF advocates for students with different strengths, stretches, background knowledge, skills and learning styles. The webinar provided a balanced perspective on current thinking and research related to the diagnosis of learning and developmental conditions such as dyslexia, Autism and ADHD.
We have had many requests for the recording of the webinar so have provided a link here for your review.
