Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We have all loved watching the Mid Autumn Festival assemblies this week. The children performed fabulous dances, dramas, chants and raps with confidence, energy and charm. We hope you enjoyed the live stream too. The entries for the lantern competition have been incredibly creative, they’ve brightened up and classrooms and school environment - thank you so much for your efforts in making this a great family project. Please have a look at the links below for some photo and video footage from the assemblies as well as the Mid-Autumn Family Recycled Lantern Design Competition.

School Council Parent Representative
I’m delighted to share with you that Julia To will be our new parent representative on our School Council. The purpose of School Councils in ESF schools is to work in conjunction with the senior management team and staff to help provide the very best education for the students. We look forward to sharing the work of the school council with you at a later date.
Buses for After-School Activities
We have had varied interest from close to 30 families so far for this option, which is not as popular as anticipated. Concerns expressed by parents include the pricing, the destination point and the accompanying of adults. We are continuing to look into these aspects. In the meantime, we are trying hard to work with the local transport services to get them to release more buses at peak times which is an easier option for everyone. Please help us by also encouraging the local providers to do so if you can.
We also have a few housekeeping messages:
Please be aware that the school will issue invoices as needed for class novels and Chinese workbooks throughout the year. Look out for messages about these in your email inbox.
After-school clubs and activities are in full swing now. We would like to remind all families to update their child's after-school pick-up arrangements on Gateway. This will enable the school buses to depart promptly after school.
Have a lovely long weekend.
Warm regards,
Brenda

Definitely keep your child at home for treatment and observation if he or she has any of these symptoms:
Fever (Fever Policy: Students with a temperature of 37.5°C/99.5°F or greater, should remain away from school until they are fever-free for 48 hours without the benefit of fever-reducing medicines such as Panadol or Ibuprofen)
Vomiting and Diarrhoea- even once (Infectious Diseases Policy: Students with vomiting and/or diarrhoea should remain away from school until 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting and diarrhoea)
Chills, general malaise, or feelings of fatigue, discomfort, weakness, or muscle aches
Frequent congested (wet) or croupy cough
Eye inflammation
Suspicious Rash
These guidelines are meant to serve the best interests of all the children and staff in our school.
Please maintain communication with the school to let them know the latest situation when your child is sick.
