Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Happy Thanksgiving!
I would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone involved in the Festive Fair last Friday. Thank you to everyone who helped out, donated or took part in the evening. Our PTA can be very proud of the event and it is sure to stay on the Kennedy School calendar in the future.
The live stage performances were phenomenal! The choir, soloists, the rock bands and all of the musicians were absolutely brilliant and demonstrated such incredible talent. Thank you to the many vendors for supporting our Fair and to the community for making it such a great event.
Excursions and Parent Sharing
A huge thank you to all of the parents who have been helping out on our school trips this week. Your help makes these experiences possible and we really appreciate it. Thank you!
Thank you also to parents and families for attending the wonderful Year 3 Chinese assembly and for attending the Year 4 Exhibition of Learning. It’s been lovely to have Year 1 parents also joining in with the ‘Box of Me’ experience.
School Uniforms
Please ensure your child is wearing the appropriate school uniform items. You can purchase these items online at the uniform shop. We will be more strict on this after the holidays so please be prepared by ordering in advance.
Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community.
Warm regards,
Brenda

Thank you for supporting the Kennedy School Festive Fair!
Thank you for joining us at the Festive Fair last Friday! What a night! The Fair was a significant milestone for us as it was the first large-scale event in many years. It was a night filled with warmth and community spirit with music and laughter. We would like to thank everyone for coming and to our amazing parent volunteers for your dedication and hard work. Without your support, we would not have been able to bring this remarkable fair together. Have a look at some of the photos we took that night:
On behalf of the HK Shark Foundation, we would like to announce the winner of the "Guess the Shark's Birthday" quiz which was conducted that evening. The answer is 25 December. Congratulations to Lauren O'Donnell from 5H for the correct guess!
What did you think of the fair? How can we make it better? Please help us by completing this survey form: Festive Fair Survey
Christmas is Coming!
We have a number of PTA items available for Kennedy families of the past, present and future. Come along to the PTA office or to reception to pick these limited edition items!
Yearband Led Dress Up Day - Pyjamas!
We look forward to seeing everyone in their sleepwear tomorrow (Friday 24 November) as we celebrate our whole school Dress Up Day in Pyjamas! Please consider sending in a voluntary donation of $20 to be handed in at the desk near reception. Funds raised will be pooled for Year 4 to enjoy a mindful art activity AND purchase something for their classrooms.
2nd Hand Uniforms
There are very limited items available - short sleeve shirts, shorts and only two pieces of size 5 fleece jackets (suitable for a Year 1 or 2 student). All second hand items are $20 a piece. These will be available from the PTA Office next Wednesday 29 November from 8.30 to 9.30 am.
PE Kits
Please note that during the school day, the weather is still very warm and our students are taking part in vigorous exercise in PE and Games. It can get very hot on the HKU pitches where we conduct our Games sessions. Please be mindful of this as your child prepares their uniform for each day. We suggest layering so that students can remove jackets and long trousers for easier movement in active sessions.
Netball Tournament at Wong Chuk Hang
On Wednesday, our Netball teams went to the HKPSSA Netball Tournament. Our girls played really well in some great matches against other ESF and international schools. Thank you to Ms Doherty and Ms Khemlyani for running the club this term.
Year 4/5 Football Tournament at Kings Park
Good luck to our Year 4/5 footballers taking part in the football tournament at Kings Park today. We have 2 boys team and a girls team at the event. Go Kennedy!
Club Friendlies next week at HKU Stanley Ho Sports Centre
As part of the final week of sports clubs next week (week beginning 27 November), we are hosting football matches against ESF Glenealy School and Kiangsu Chekiang School (KCIS). Parents are welcome to attend these friendly matches and support our students. All students involved in the Tuesday and Friday football clubs will play and these friendly matches will take part in our regular training time. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Tuesday 28th November: Year 5 football friendlies on HKU Pitch 4 from 3.00 to 4.15 pm
Friday 1st December: Year 3/4 football friendlies on HKU Pitch 4 from 3.00 to 4.15 pm
Please be mindful that next week will be our final week of sports clubs for this Term. Please look out for the information on the Term 2 Sports Clubs and sign up your child to their interests.
Join ESF in supporting the Weez Walk 2024
I am proud to share the news that ESF is an official supporting organisation of the Weez Walk 2024. This annual fundraising event is close to the heart of our community as it was set up in memory of Jamie Bruno, one of our students.
Jamie took his own life in 2017 when he was 15 years old, and his parents founded the Weez Walk to raise awareness about the warning signs of a potential suicide to help prevent tragedy. The event name is also a tribute to Jamie, who loved street art and used "Weez" as his graffiti art signature.
The Weez Walk route follows the 60 km coastal trail around Hong Kong Island and can be completed in one go or many shorter stages during the event period, from 20 January until 25 February 2023.
Registration is now open with a special discount before 30 November 2023. All proceeds will fund the suicide prevention programme of youth services charity KELY Support Group.
Let's show our full support and help make this event a huge success. You can sign up here.
