Holidays and School Closure
Reminder - No school this Monday!

A reminder that EDB has closed all schools after the Seventh District Council Ordinary Election. Therefore Monday, 11 December has been added to the ESF calendar as an additional holiday.

The school will close for Term 1 on Friday 15 December. It will be a half-day that day, ending at 12 noon. Bus students will board the buses from 11:50 am and walkers are to be collected from 11.57 am. There will be no lunch eaten in school that day. The school will resume again on Monday 8 January 2024 at the usual time.

Uniforms
We still have children wearing old sweaters, cardigans and sweatshirts. Our old uniform is now not to be worn to school. You can purchase these new items online at the uniform shop. We will be more strict on this after the holidays so please be prepared by ordering in advance.

The Lunar New Year Design Competition

We are searching for student artwork to appear on school displays celebrating the Lunar New Year of the Dragon in February 2024. The artwork should be A3 size and handed to class teachers by 3.00 pm, Wednesday 13 December 2023. For more details, please have a look at the letter shared last week:

Year 5/6 AFL Friendly Match

On Tuesday, our AFL squad played a friendly match against Australian International School HK. The game was played in a competitive spirit with some high-quality footy. It was particularly pleasing to hear praise for the tackling, ball handling and kicking skills of our Year 5 and 6 players. Thank you to Mr Lynch and Mr Kruger for your hard work with the team this term.

This event concludes our matches for this term. It has been a fantastic start to the year and we hope to arrange more friendly matches across many sports as well as tournaments in the future.

Clubs for Term 2

Please speak with your child about the staff-run after school clubs available next term. We are an inclusive school and offer as many sporting opportunities as we can. Registration starts on Friday 8 December 8.00 pm. Please follow the registration procedure after discussions with your child.

PE Wall of Fame

We hope that our students remain active during the winter holiday. In the gym, we have a "Kennedy Sports Wall of Fame" display showcasing our students taking part in physical activities outside of school. If you would like to share any photographs of your child being active, please re-name the photographs with your child's name and class and add the photographs to the form here.

Christmas Post

Our Christmas postbox is up and running in front of reception until 15 December. Please use it to post Christmas cards and letters to students and teachers and amahs at school! Please make sure all names and classes are written clearly on the envelope so our Year 6 elves know where to deliver the letters and cards to. Please do not post sweets or any food items.

Lost Property

The lost property boxes are filling up. These boxes outside Reception will be emptied during the school holidays so please check them for missing items by 15 December 2023.

We have some Kennedy School merchandise available. Come along to the PTA office or to reception to pick these limited edition items.

Christmas Post- Buy Individual Cards

Children and families can come to the reception and buy individual christmas cards for $10 per card. You can post Christmas cards and letters to students and teachers at school. Our Year 6 elves will conduct daily deliveries to classrooms to share the festive greetings.
