Welcome to Staff

We welcome Thea Wong our new Expressive Arts Teacher who will be teaching Years 1 and 2 and helping out with the school choir. Hayley Wood has also returned from maternity leave to teach 4W. Both have settled in well.

Capturing the Life of Kennedy School

We had a professional photographer in all day today as part of an ESF initiative to capture quality photos for publications and our upcoming revamped website. It was a beautiful day with lots of happy faces learning and playing - so I’m sure the photographer will have taken some fabulous photos.

Uniforms
We still have children wearing old sweaters, cardigans and sweatshirts. Our old uniform is now not to be worn to school. You can purchase new items online at the uniform shop please be prepared by ordering in advance as the cold weather is likely to come back again sometime soon.

Yearband Led Dress Up Day - Friday 19th January

It is a whole school dress up day on Friday 19th January and Year 3 are in charge! They have decided that the theme for the whole school is Sparkle and Shine, Dress Up and Dazzle. On the day, please send your child with a suggested minimum donation of $20 which will be collected as students arrive at school. Year 3 will use the donations to organise a year group activity.

PTA Coffee Morning - Friday 19th January 8:20 - 9:20 am

Please join us for a casual get-together over coffee! We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to connect at the start of Term 2. We are planning an exciting Chinese New Year Carnival for all students on 5 February and would love to have more parent volunteers.

Hot Lunches with Zebratasty

Remember that the registration period for the following calendar month is from 10th to 24th every month. Meals ordered after the 24th will incur an additional $8 charge per meal.For more information on how to order a hot lunch, please see the link here.

Kennedy After School Sports Clubs start next week!

Staff-Run After School Clubs in Term 2

Staff-run after school clubs start next week (beginning 15 January). Please remember to check Gateway for the start and end dates as well as the details for each club.

Hockey - now available to Year 4 students

There are still spaces available in this term's Hockey Club. This takes place every Friday starting next week and is now open to Year 4 as well as Year 5 and Year 6 students. Please sign your child up on Gateway if they are interested. Joining the club means that there are opportunities to represent the school in Hockey Tournaments this term if your child is selected.

Yoga - open to Year 3

There are spaces available in Yoga Club on Thursdays. This club is now available to Year 3 students as well as Year 4 and Year 5 students. Yoga is a great way to build flexibility in a calm and friendly atmosphere and helps to improve students concentration levels. Please encourage your child to take up this great opportunity to learn and practise Yoga with Mrs Evans.

Sports Days

Our annual School Sports Days will take place this term a well. Please save the date and look out for more information coming soon.

As part of the extensive and diverse Music and Performing Arts programme here at Kennedy School, we would like to offer you the opportunity for your child to learn a musical instrument on a one to one or group basis.

Instrumental tuition helps students in numerous ways. Here is a link you may wish to refer to:

The lessons are FEE PAYING and will take place within snack time or directly after school.

Fees depend on the group size and the teachers. Some lessons can be delivered in different languages.
