Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Celebration of Learning and 3-Way Conference
What a wonderful day it was! Thanks for taking the time to immerse yourselves in the school life of your child/ren and to work in partnership with teachers to continue to ensure your child flourishes. It was such a positive and productive day that had a calm and wonderful community feel. Thanks again to everyone for your contributions.
Stakeholder survey
So far only 22% of parents have filled in the stakeholder survey and we’re hoping for a lot more. ESF has sent this to you via email and will send some reminders. Thanks for taking the time to complete the survey. It’s really helpful for us to get feedback on our strengths and ways we can continuously improve our school.
Focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)
Coming Soon - The Global Neurodiversity Awareness Week.
What is neurodiversity? Click on this site for a wealth of information and for free webinars on a whole range of areas.
A quote from the same website states, ‘Approximately 15-20% of the population has a neurological difference. Instead of labelling people with deficits or disorders, when we use the term neurodiversity, we take a balanced view of an individual’s unique strengths and challenges. Many ‘challenges’ neurodivergent people face have more to do with the environment and systems they are placed in, often designed by a majority population’.
Please note the ESF section of the newsletter for more information on ESF workshops held at RCHK (Renaissance College) or ESFC (English Schools Foundation Centre, King's Road, Quarry Bay).
Kind regards,
Brenda

ESF Cross Country Running at KGV
Last weekend we had over 60 students running at KGV on Saturday morning. This was a great experience for our students to race against other ESF schools in very testing conditions. Our young racers in Year 3 and Year 4 ran a distance of 1.2 km and our Year 5 and Year 6 students ran the course twice to complete the distance of 2.4 km. Thank you to all of the parents for giving up their Saturday morning to cheer on our students in the rain!
Please see photos of the event here
Next week we will finish our cross country events for this term at Discovery College on Saturday 16th March. We have room to enter two more students in the Year 3 boys and Year 3 girls races and one in the Year 4 girls race. Please contact me if you would like to enter your child for this event.
Good luck Tag Rugby players
Today, our Year 5/6 Tag Rugby team will play their first tournament of the year at Happy Valley at the HKPSSA Tag Rugby Jamboree. Our students are well trained by Mr Bogaerde and Valley Rugby coach Kimberley. The event will be great preparation for next Friday when we host the Tag Rugby Championships here at HKU pitch 1.
Go Basketballers this Saturday
Good luck to our Basketball players this Saturday in the Basketball Tournament at French International School. We have two teams representing Kennedy in the Year 5/6 event. This is the first tournament for our basketball players, thank you to Mr Zeng for his help in coaching the team and preparing our players for this event.

Neurodiversity Celebration Week
The week beginning 11 March is Neurodiversity Celebration Week.
