Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Reminder! School closes next Friday at 12.00 noon. The buses will depart around noon. Children can dress casually on this day.
Term 3 begins on Tuesday 9 April as Monday is a CPD day for staff.
Wishing our community members, staff and families who are celebrating ‘Ramadan Mubarak’, a very happy season. I look forward to seeing you all after the Spring/Easter break.
Stakeholder survey
We’ve moved from 22% to 31% of returns to our stakeholder survey. Thank you! Please note that you only get one survey per family and this is sent to the first contact in Gateway. Please look in your spam if you can’t locate it. Let’s see if we can get to 50% returns! It will only take you 5 minutes. It’s really helpful for us to get feedback on our strengths and ways we can continuously improve our school.
Beijing Here We Come!
We are all very excited about our Year 6 (optional), 5-day excursion to Beijing. We have a tour party of 127 and have an amazing itinerary planned including, the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Hutong tour, an acrobat show partnering with a school experiencing lessons with new friends, and many, many more amazing experiences. It’s so exciting to launch this cultural and language opportunity again after having to put it on hold for many years.
A big thanks to the year 6 parents for your support and to the staff who are accompanying the students. A huge shout out to Denggao Zeng and the Mandarin team, and also Michael our Finance Manager for doing all the organisation. More photos to come.
Acting Principal Next Week
Rudi Dray (VP) and I will be accompanying the tour group to Beijing. In my absence, Debbie Sheward will be acting principal on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Cath Wan will be acting principal on Tuesday and Thursday. Please reach out to them if you have any questions or queries. Rudi and I will be out of the office for a week leading into the school holidays.
Kennedy’s Got Talent - Congratulations Year 4
As the culmination of their How We Express Ourselves unit of inquiry, today the Year 4 students showcased their talents to their parents with a performance of 'Kennedy's Got Talent'. Weeks of inquiry and rehearsals paid off as all of the students gave it their all to 'wow' on stage! Singing, dancing, gymnastics, magicians, hypnotists, circus performers, martial artists, bands and comedians were all part of the diverse talents on show in an event that really highlighted the creativity, passion and resilience of the students. Well done to everyone involved - Kennedy really does have talent!
Kind regards,
Brenda

Basketball
Last Saturday, two Kennedy School teams competed at the HKPSSA Basketball Championships at the French International School. Our boys and girls performed really well against very tough (and tall!) opposition, but gave a great account of themselves. Next Wednesday, we will play our final Basketball event at KGV School.
See photos of the Basketball event here
Tag Rugby
Today, Kennedy hosted the HKPSSA Tag Rugby Championships here at HKU Stanley Ho Pitch 2. Well done to our rugby players who have been coached by Mr Bogaerde, Mr Kruger and Mr Lynch this term. This event is the culmination of all of the training our players have dedicated themselves to. Let's go Kennedy!
Cross Country
Good luck to our cross-country runners this Saturday at ESF Discovery College. We are taking more than 40 students from Year 3 to Year 6 to this event. Thank you to Ms Barrington and Ms Franklin for your support with the early morning running sessions.

Please take a look at the sporting clubs available in Term 3 with your child and sign them up starting tomorrow, Friday 15 March at 8 pm. You never know if this could be the start of a cricket success story like our former Kennedy student Jhathavedh Subramanyan (graduated in June 2010), Please see here for more details on this story.
