Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Celebration of Music
What a huge accomplishment and well done to the 109 students who showed their musical prowess at our Celebration of Music this morning. We saw an incredible variety of music from heart-stopping drum beats, to orchestral pieces, solo performances and pop songs. Encore! We are incredibly proud of them all.

ESF Art Exhibition
I hope you are making plans to visit the ESF Art Exhibition in Central which is on until 2 June. It is such a wonderful opportunity for so many students aged from 3 to 18 years from all our ESF schools, to showcase their work. Look out for the 7 pieces of art from Kennedy School.
New Adventure Playground
Students are loving the new playground and are becoming more adventurous the more they are on it. We are so delighted with it!
Work Experience Week with WIS Students
This week, we have also welcomed 5 Year 12 students from West Island School who are on work experience here. Many of them are former Kennedy students so it was extra special having them here.
ESF Transition Day
Tomorrow (Friday 31 May) is Transition Day for all ESF Schools. Our Year 6s will spend the day at their secondary school, while we welcome our incoming Year 1s and their parents to the school.
PYP Exhibition
Don't forget to check the folder below for the action requests from our Year 6 students who are preparing for their PYP exhibition. The folder will be updated weekly, so please check back on Fridays to see what new requests there are.

Friendly Matches with Glenealy School
Last Thursday, we hosted ESF Glenealy School for a series of friendly matches with our Year 4/ 5 Football Club. It was great to see all of the boys and girls playing in a friendly yet competitive spirit. This club has been a fantastic opportunity for our students to play together in readiness for tournament season in the Autumn Term.
On Tuesday, we welcomed Glenealy back for some friendly cricket matches with Years 4 to 6. This was a great way to give everyone in the club a chance to play against another school and it was good preparation for our cricket team as we look to defend our title as HKPSSA Cricket Champions next Monday! Go Kennedy cricket!
End of Staff-Run Sports and Swimming
All staff-run after-school sports clubs have now concluded except for swimming, which ends next Wednesday 4 June. Yesterday, I received the good news that the HKPSSA Swim Gala will be on Wednesday 19 June. This will be an opportunity for some of our Y5/6 Swim Squad students who have been training every Wednesday morning at West Island School.
Year 4 Kennedy Swim Gala
Friday 7 June, 9.00 to 12 noon, HKU Henry Fok Swimming Pool
Parents are very welcome to attend our very first Year 4 Swim Gala and should arrive at the poolside between 8.45 to 9.00 am. The spectator area for parents is above the pool on the balcony which commands a great view of the finish line. All of our students who have taken part in this year's Kennedy swimming programme will have the opportunity to swim in at least two races. Students have been assessed by our Aquakidz swim coaches and will be swimming in races suitable for their swimming level.
The Year 6 members of the Kennedy Swimming Squad will also showcase their swimming skills as part of the Year 4 Swim Gala. Parents of the Year 6 Swim Squad may come to watch your child take part in the Kennedy Year 4 Swim Gala. I expect the Year 6 Swim Squad event races to take place between 10.20 to 11.10 am.

Year 1 Dress Up Day - Wear Your Favourite Outfit
The Year 1 “Wear Your Favourite Outfit” dress up happened last Friday 24 May, with great success. There were some great outfits from casual lazy days wear, to dinosaurs, princesses, sports wear and much more. A fantastic $9,930 was raised, which Year 1 will use for Art Wellbeing Workshops looking at links between colour and emotions as part of our Who We Are unit. Click here for more info.
An Exciting New Adventure Playground
There was more excitement on Friday with the opening of the new Adventure Playground. Many students have had an exciting play on the new addition, even some teachers had a go! We thank PTA for helping raise funds to create this amazing play area, Casten Rakutt from Rakoon Designs for recreating the amazing space with natural woods and Maelyn’s parents Inge and Roberto for helping plan the design.
