Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Today, the Year 6 students shared with their parents and caregivers a special project they've been working on called the PYP Exhibition. This exhibition is the final project that students do at the end of their Primary Years Programme.
In the PYP Exhibition, the students get to pick a real-world issue, passion, or idea that interests them. They do research and an in-depth investigation into this topic. Then they get to share what they've learned with parents and the school community.
The students demonstrated a lot of the important IB learner profile qualities and skills they've developed over their time in the Primary Years Programme. This includes things like being good communicators, caring about making a difference, being able to research and cite sources, showing good self-management skills and working independently and collaboratively, depending on the situation.
The teachers and staff are very proud of how the students were able to confidently and articulately share their learning with everyone. It was a great opportunity for the students to showcase what they've accomplished. Congratulations to all the Year 6 students and the staff who supported them through this amazing learning experience!
Stakeholder Survey Feedback
Last week I shared this presentation. One major change we will be making after hearing your feedback is to ensure better and more frequent methods of sharing your child’s learning progress with you to help you know how to support your child at home. We look forward to sharing this with you next year. Thanks for identifying this as an area of growth for the school.

As the academic year draws to a close, we have some important housekeeping messages to share. Please read these carefully and take note of the various deadlines:
A. School Bus Service Registration Reminder
If you wish to sign your child/children up for the school bus service in the new school year, please submit your application online at https://school.kcm.com.hk/kennedy by Tuesday 18 June 2024.
B. Student Work on Seesaw
The school will begin working on the new Seesaw classes for the new academic year in the second week of July. This means that from this time onwards, the current data on Seesaw will no longer be available. If you would like to download your child's work from Seesaw, please follow the instructions provided in the link below and ensure you download the work on or before Friday 5 July 2024.
How to Save and Download Student Work
C. Gateway & ESF App Access for Graduating students and those leaving Kennedy School
For those leaving Kennedy School at the end of June, please remember to download your child's end-of-year reports from the VLE. Please also take action on any balance remaining in your child’s eWallet in the Payment system. This can be done on Gateway. You will lose access to both the Gateway and the ESF App by Friday 5 July 2024.
D. Library
All library books should be returned to school next week (week starting 17 June).
E. House Points
Please remind your child/ren to bring in their house points back to school. These tokens are awarded to the children by their teachers throughout the year to encourage positive action and behaviour. These house points are tallied each week by the House Captains and the winner for the year will be announced at the end of the school year.
F. Lost Property
Please check the lost property boxes in front of reception for missing items. There are many swim kits and water bottles without names. Any item left after the school year ends will be disposed of.
Year 4 Swim Gala
We were so proud of all of our students who participated in the first-ever Year 4 Swim Gala at HKU Pool last Friday morning. Our young swimmers took part in a variety of fun width and length races to earn points for their Houses. A huge thank you to our Sports Ambassadors for their help on the day timing and announcing the races. Our Year 6 Swim Squad took part in some mini-exhibition races during the break and set a fabulous example for our younger students. Congratulations to the Unicorns as the Year 4 Swim Gala Champions.
Year 6 Swim Squad at the HKPSSA Gala
Good luck to our Year 6 swim squad students on Wednesday next week as they take part in the final HKPSSA sports event of the year - the Year 6 Swim Gala. These students have trained every Wednesday at West Island Pool and deserve their chance to shine - good luck to all of the competitors.
Year 6 v West Island Friendly Football Match
On Wednesday 19th June, we will have a friendly football match against West Island School Year 7 students. This is a great opportunity for our soon-to-be secondary students to play a competitive game against their peers next year and build a rapport with the secondary students and staff. The matches will be played on HKU pitch 2 in a 7-aside format from 1.30 -2.30 pm. Parents of students playing in the matches are welcome to attend if they wish. Please see the squad list here.
Kennedy Sports kits return
As we are now approaching the end of the school year please return the Kennedy Sports kit in the sports bag if you still have it at home. Thank you for your support!
Adventure Playground - 3 weeks on
There is still a Buzz around the playground. Let’s hear what Stella (4D), Zadie and Harry (5O) have to say
