Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Home Learning Tomorrow - 6 September
EDB has announced school closures tomorrow (Friday 6 September) to ensure student safety. Please stay safe! Your child’s teacher will send an APP message before 8.00 am with the learning for the day and the times for the Zoom Check-ins which will take place 2 times during the day. Teachers of the older students will also communicate directly with the students via email.
You may wish to take advantage of this time to work on your Mid Autumn family recycled lantern competition submissions together as a family. The deadline for entries is Monday 9 September.
Parent Workshops
We are planning a series of parent workshops this year. To ensure they are valuable, we would like your input. Please take a few minutes to fill out this short survey. Your feedback will help us tailor the workshops to your specific needs. Thank you!
Warm regards,
Brenda

Home School Media Agreements
The children and staff have been working hard to set expectations for the year ahead. As part of this process, and with interactive one-to-one devices from Year 3-6, updated ‘Home School Media Agreements’ are being shared between students, teachers and parents in these year groups in order to understand our responsibilities as respectful digital citizens.
In phase assemblies this week, children have been learning through the theme of ‘Respect’. In support of our Home School Media Agreements, we encourage children to ‘be engaged’ in their academic focus. Therefore, personal devices with internet access (e.g. mobile phones and smart watches) are actively encouraged not to be brought into school and we ask that everyone respects the expectations.
Kennedy will follow the ESF Digital Citizenship Framework throughout the year to stay safe, balanced, keep informed and engaged in order to be responsible and respectful digital citizens.
Staff-Run Extracurricular Activities (ECAs) Information
Staff-run ECAs got off to a good start this week. It is nice to see so many students actively involved in a variety of sporting activities in the mornings and afternoon. Thank you to all of the staff involved for providing these healthy learning experiences.
Unfortunately due to the weather, we had to cancel all ECAs today. We aim to give everyone as much notice as possible if there is a need to cancel any of our clubs. Going forward, we will let everyone know by 6.15 am on the morning of a before school club if it needs to be cancelled.
Most of our ECA sports clubs are now full but there are still some spaces left in the Year 5/6 girls football club on Thursday mornings. The girls football programme is continuing to grow and is something we are very proud of. Please get in touch with me at pcrompton@kennedy.edu.hk if you would like to register your daughter for the club.
