Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Celebration of Learning and 3-Way Conference - Wednesday 2nd October 2024
In response to the stakeholder survey from last year we have added more opportunities this year for you to come to the school to find out more about your child’s learning and school experience. Our first opportunity is on Wednesday 2 October.
Those families with more than one child were sent a note on the ESF APP yesterday and those of you with one child at Kennedy will be sent an APP message on Monday.
As a brief summary:
The process involves all students and teachers in the school.
Your family will come to school for a specific session during the day. (Please allow between 60 to 90 minutes for your child).
Formal classes and after-school ECAs will not be in operation on this day. Children will come and leave with their family members.
No buses will run. Children can wear casual clothes.
Sibling appointments will be arranged first, hence the note was sent earlier to these families.
Starting from 8.00 pm tonight Thursday, 12th September parents with more than one Kennedy child can login to Gateway at https://ks.tg.esf.edu.hk using your existing parental login name and password to book your appointments.
Other parents with one child will receive the APP message on Monday and can book their appointments from Monday 16th September, 8.00 pm.
Parent Workshop - Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE)
When: Thursday 26 September, 6.00 to 6.45 pm
How: Online - webinar. The link will be sent closer to the time.
This workshop is held annually and is recommended for those unfamiliar with the RSE programme. The workshop - which is for parents only - will cover the purposes of teaching RSE, the content for years 1-6, and the teaching methods including resources and how parents can assist at home.
This year's RSE workshop will take a school-wide approach, suitable for all parents of students in Years 1-6. If you have attended an RSE workshop in the past, you may find the presentation familiar and can choose to join the session as a refresher if you wish.
The session will not be recorded, but a summary of the slides will be made available to all families after the session. There is no need to RSVP. We look forward to having you join in this journey with us.
Mid Autumn Celebration Performances
Well done to all the students who performed at the Mid Autumn Festival Assemblies this week. 152 performers from Year 2 to Year 6 participated in this vibrant celebration of joy and togetherness, reminding us all of the importance of being together during this special occasion.
Farewell to Honghong Li
Honghong, a beloved EA in our Chinese Department, has been an invaluable part of the Kennedy School community for 15 years. Her dedication to our school is evident in her tireless work on dance performances, Chinese New Year celebrations and festivals and assisting learners with their lessons. As she prepares to retire on Friday, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for her contributions and wish her all the best in her next chapter in Australia.
Warm regards,
Brenda
