Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Camp Season is Here!
Get ready for some outdoor fun! Our Year 4, 5, and 6 students are heading off to residential camps very soon. These experiences are a great way for students to learn new skills, make friends, and have amazing outdoor adventures. We are excited to see what they will learn and how they will develop and grow in maturity and teamwork. Plus, they'll be away from their phones and computers for a while, which can be a great break for everyone!
We look forward to sharing the wonderful photos on our return.
Acting Principal
Please note that next week, members of our Senior Leadership Team will be attending Child Protection Training and attending the 3-day camp for Year 5. The Acting Principal for Monday and Tuesday is Cath Carter (VP) and from Wednesday to Friday, it will be Debbie Sheward (VP).
Diwali Celebrations and Sharing
Many thanks to the parents who have enrolled their children to perform in the Diwali assemblies. To further embrace the spirit of Diwali, we encourage our school community to wear culturally inspired clothing on Thursday, 7 November. No donation is required. We especially encourage children who are presenting in the assemblies to wear their attire on the day of their performance.
Fun-O-Ween
By popular demand, our Fun-O-Ween dress-up day is on Thursday, 31 October. Children should wear fun costumes or fancy dress costumes - any theme is fine, avoiding anything too scary. Ensure costumes meet the criteria to avoid frightening younger children. No money or sweets/candies please.
Box of Hope
Thanks so much for your support. It has been amazing to see the generosity of our community.
Kennedy Newspaper
Our Year 6 students have started a newspaper! The Kennedy Today newspaper is a monthly broadsheet with copies in all Year 5 and 6 classrooms and in the library. Have a look at the first issue here:
Thank you again for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Brenda

Letter from the Chair
Last week, we held our annual AGM where we presented the year in review as well as our plans for this academic year. I am pleased and humbled to once again accept the nomination as Chair for this academic year. We warmly welcomed new parent and teacher members. Please see profiles for the newly elected committee members here. We also thanked the following outgoing committee members for their service - teacher representatives Tim Tremmel and Michelle Spratt as well as parent representatives Garima Jain and Tracey Yu.
The PTA consists of a wonderful, hard-working team of parents who volunteer their time and experience to help make our school an even more amazing community. It is a privilege to serve as Chair alongside them and I look forward to all the great things we have planned for this year.
See you all at Kennedy School's biggest event The Festive Fair on Friday 15 November!
