Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Term 2 is now complete. It's hard to believe! We've had a year full of learning and activities so far, and Term 3 looks great too! A reminder that we return to school on Tuesday 22 April at the usual time.
Thank you for your support in completing the ESF Stakeholder Survey and for attending the numerous school events and presentations. We really appreciate your involvement.
Orchestra Jam
Our school orchestra had the opportunity to meet with all the ESF primary school orchestras for our annual Orchestra Jam. This is an amazing opportunity for our students to meet and collaborate with other students from ESF and to make some new friendships too.
Farewell to Charlene Stubbs
Charlene Stubbs, our Year 6 EA, will be moving overseas during the spring break. She has been a great colleague and a wonderful EA to the students. Charlene has helped the school and students in so many ways and has always given her best. She has been a strong supporter of the school and a great advocate for students - we will miss her. We wish Charlene all the very best in the future.
Educational Assistant Updates
As Charlene is leaving Year 6, Marta Krug will move to Year 6 to help with the exhibition, as she has experience in this area. We have hired a new EA, Blake Nari, to support 4C. Blake visited on Monday and is excited to start working with Ms. Clinch and 4C.
Wondering how to help your child with their learning?
Wondering how to build on the insights from the Celebration of Learning? Access our parent workshop presentations and videos via this link. This is a great resource for ongoing support. Plus, don't miss our "Smartphone Free Childhood HK" workshop on Tuesday 29 April at 6.00 pm and please RSVP by signing up for this exciting event here.
Year 6 Parent Coffee Morning with WIS
Year 6 parents are invited for a coffee morning at Kennedy School on 2 May at 8.30 am to find out more about the Year 6 transition to West Island School. Please sign up here and we look forward to seeing you.
Hats, Hats, Hats!
Please ensure your child brings a hat to school every day. As the days are getting hotter again we are seeing a growing number of children not protected from the sun. Please help us keep your child safe from sunburn by ensuring they have a school hat with them. Please order the hat or other school uniform items online or visit the store.
We hope you have a good spring break. We look forward to welcoming the students back for Term 3.
Warm regards,
Brenda

Go Kennedy Swimmers!
KS Year 6 / WIS Year 7 Elite Squad Swimming Gala
Yesterday, we took 27 members of our Year 6 Elite Swim Squad students to compete in the first-ever Kennedy + West Island Swimming Gala. This event was a huge success and the culmination of twice weekly morning training that our students have been taking part in by specialist coaches from Pacific Swimming Club. Our students took part in a variety of races against fellow Year 6 and WIS Year 7 students, which is another step towards building close links with WIS as our students transition to secondary school. Congratulations to Hathor Xu, Alice Torringer and Harvey Yu in winning their respective races.
Please see the document below for full race timings.
Fun at the Rugby 7s
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Hong Kong Rugby 7s last weekend. Many Kennedy School students played on the pitch at the new Kai Tak Sports Stadium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. A special mention to Torres Wong in 3W who was featured in South China Morning Post (SCMP) for the mini Rugby game on March 28: https://www.instagram.com/scmpnews/p/DHvqh56SEnH/?img_index=10
As part of our ongoing commitment to celebrate diversity and promote literacy, we are excited to enrich our collection with mother-tongue picture books. These books not only enrich our students’ reading experiences but also help them connect with their cultural heritage.
If you are going home for the Easter Break, and would like to buy and donate a book in your home language, we would love to add it to our collection.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping us create a more inclusive and vibrant library!
Auction Prize - EA for the Day
Keegan Sze from 2D had an incredible day yesterday assisting Mrs McCready-Browne with her class. He took on the role of the 1MB EA for the day, which was an auction prize from our Quiz Night in February! He did really well!! Here is a short presentation showcasing what he did and the positive impact he made.
Year 3 Go Green Dress Up Day Special Guest - Katie Flowers!
Last Thursday and Friday, Year 3 classes invited Katie Flowers for a relaxing and fun-filled Art Therapy session funded by their Go Green Dress Up Day last month that raised $9,076! Thank you for participating and supporting this lovely activity for our Year 3s. Please click here for the photos.
Here’s what some students in 3T thought about the experience:
“I loved mixing the colours” - Sheldon Xu
“I like thinking about the different shapes.” - Ben Zhao
“I liked the way she approaches art and feelings.” - Elizabeth Sung
- “I really liked what we were drawing and the ideas and feelings we were thinking out.” - Theo Yip
“I liked it because it can show what you feel through colours in the morning and during the day it might be different.” - Kyra Wong
Still Calling Clever Cooks and Brilliant Baker
We’ve had an amazing response to our call for brilliant bakers, but we’re still on the lookout for more clever cooks to join our database of tasty finger dishes! While our sweet treats are abundant, we’re craving your savoury creations to add to the mix! If you haven’t already, please take a moment to fill out the forms here.
Pass us your pre-loved uniforms!
We are seeking donations for preloved uniforms to replenish our stock. Your contributions will make a big difference! Please drop to PTA Space.
Put Your Hand Up Everyone is welcome in our PTA Volunteer Community, and the cool things we do are even more enjoyable when we do them together! The year is speeding past, but there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. Let’s make some magic happen—add your name to our Volunteer Community here.
PTA Office Hours
PTA is open from Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 3.00 pm. If you wish to contact the PTA, please email PTA@kennedy.edu.hk or Tel: 2579 5699.
