Exciting Transition for Year 6 at WIS

Our Year 6 students spent some valuable time at West Island School this week for their transition days. They took part in lessons and got a real feel for what life is like at WIS. We've heard some excellent feedback from WIS about our students and their positive attitude towards this move.

Celebrating Chinese Art and Community Spirit

A big shout-out to the Wang family – Yueling and Xinyou (parents of Jayden in 4R, Felix in 1C, and Alfie in 1K)! They played a key role in bringing a special Chinese Art Workshop to some of our students this week. By collaborating with our Chinese team, they helped bring talented artists into school to share their expertise and get the students involved in painting. Thank you so much for your support!

Year 3 Art Exhibition

We look forward to welcoming Year 3 parents to school tomorrow to view the artworks created by the Year 3 students for the Unit “How We Express Ourselves”. We can’t wait to share their work!

A Heartfelt Thank You for Your Kindness

We also want to express our sincere thanks to those of you who have shown such care and support to one of our families during a difficult time. Your empathy following the passing of a much-loved Dad and husband has been a real comfort. It highlights the strong and supportive community we have at Kennedy School. Thank you.

Making ECA Pick-Up Smooth and Safe after 4.00 pm

To help ensure a positive and secure environment during after-ECA pick-up, we are introducing a few guidelines for waiting on campus after 4.00 pm, starting Monday, 12 May. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

Please ensure your child brings a hat to school every day. As the days are getting hotter again, we are seeing a growing number of children not protected from the sun. Please help us keep your child safe from sunburn by ensuring they have a school hat with them. Please order the hat or other school uniform items online or visit the store.

Term 3 Swim Schedule

Mark your calendar! Our own Ron Saw would like to invite the Kennedy School community to an afternoon of fun and music to support the earthquake relief efforts in Myanmar.

Ron grew up in Myanmar and left for New Zealand when he was 7. Much of his family still lives in Yangon and Mandalay, which were badly affected by the earthquake of 28 March 2025.

There will be band performances from our own school Rock Band, staff band as well as a fun lucky draw. It's all for a great cause! We hope to see many of you there!

Coming Up: Year 4’s Favourite Colour Dress-Up Day!

On Friday 23 May, Year 4 will be leading a Favourite Colour Dress-Up Day for the entire school! Students are encouraged to come dressed in their favourite colour or a mix of colours to celebrate creativity and self-expression. To make this event even more special, we kindly ask for a small donation of $20, which will go towards funding a creative workshop for Year 4, led by the talented artist El McColl.

Exciting News from 1MB! Our students are loving their brand-new reading carpets and movable bookcases, purchased with funds raised at the Festive Fair! Thanks to everyone's generous support, we've created a cozy and dynamic reading space that encourages curiosity and learning. A huge thank you to all who contributed—your efforts have truly made a difference!

As we approach the end of the academic year, we are now collecting preloved uniforms. If your little ones have outgrown theirs, you can donate them to the PTA. Your contributions will help fellow students and make a meaningful impact. Please drop donations off at the PTA Space.
