Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Celebrating Visual Art
The ESF Art Exhibition officially opened last night, showcasing incredible artwork from K1 to Year 13 students, all around the theme of "Generations." Our school was proudly represented by a fantastic array of student creations! Pop in this weekend to the Exhibition Hall, Hong Kong City Hall, 5 Edinburgh Place, Central. The exhibition runs from June 19 to 21 (10.00 am to 7.00 pm daily) and June 22 (10.00 am to 4.00 pm). Admission is free and all are welcome! Congratulations to all of our artists. A huge thanks to Georgina Adams, who has coordinated this project with staff and ESF.
Tonight's the night! Year 6 Exhibition
The PYP Exhibition is a real highlight for our Year 6 students. It is where they get to pick a real-world problem they care about, or to follow their passion, and look for opportunities to take action and make a difference. This project helps them become great at researching, thinking critically, and sharing their ideas clearly. It's a fantastic way for them to grow into confident and caring young people, ready to make a positive impact. All of the students got to see the exhibition today, and they were so engaged and interested in all the different ideas the children shared. We even had our own TEDx Live Studio! We are sure the Year 6 students will WOW their parents and friends at school this evening. Good luck, Year 6!
Leavers : Staff and PTA Chair
This year, a number of staff and PTA Chair will be leaving us. Macy Wong (2I EA), Hayley Wood (6W teacher), Natasha Petit O’Connor (PTA), Skye Murphy (Year 5 EA), Jason Chan (Chinese EA), and parent-funded EAs Carmen Lau and Lois Baker. Please read more about them HERE.
Move-up Session for Students
On Monday 23 June, your child will get to meet their new classmates, teacher and Education Assistant. This session helps children feel more settled and excited for the next school year.
Please look out for an email from the school, which will be sent on Monday. In this note, teachers will introduce themselves, share important details about the year ahead, and list any stationery needed for Years 3-6. The letter will also tell you about PE days. It will also have a QR code to join the new class WhatsApp group.
End of Year Reports
Reports will go live to parents after school on Monday, 23 June. To access these, please visit the ESF App.
Lost Property
Our lost property boxes are overflowing! Please encourage the children to look through the lost property boxes outside reception for anything they might have lost. These boxes will be emptied during the summer holidays.
House Points
Please encourage your child to bring their House Points back to school by Thursday morning 26 June, so that they can be added to the totals. The House Captains will be making a final count of all the House Points collected over the course of the year and announce the House Champions of the year on Friday morning. Who will be champions this year?
Last Day of School - Half day (Friday 27 June)
Students can wear their PE kits or they can dress casually in their house colours on the last morning of school (Friday, 27th June). As a school, we will be congregating on the lower playground at 8.30 am for a school photo and to award the house trophies for the year. Parents are welcome to stay in the playground and watch this.
Do you have your child’s school uniform all sorted for next year?
As a reminder, the uniform can be purchased at the uniform shop. Please ensure your child has a pair of black school shoes, not trainers, to wear as part of the uniform.
Here are the dismissal times for Friday, 27 June:

A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Kennedy School Community!
As this school year wraps up, I want to extend our thanks to everyone who has contributed to Kennedy School's success. Whether you've been a part of the PTA, served on the School Council, volunteered as a class parent, or helped out at excursions and school events, your support has been invaluable.
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend our celebrations of learning days, performances, carnivals and sports events and helping in countless other ways. It's this kind of support that makes a great school even better. We simply couldn't have achieved so much without you! Thank you!
Kind regards,
Brenda

Swimming classes have ended for Term 3
We have now completed our swimming lessons for the academic year. Lessons will resume after the summer break. Please look out for the message on the ESF App about joining the programme next year.
Many thanks to our swim coaches for the hard work teaching our students this vital life skill. We will end our Swimming Programme on a high note with the Year 4 Kennedy Swimming Gala tomorrow! Please see below for details:
Year 4 Swim Gala Tomorrow! Friday 20 June
We look forward to welcoming as many parents as possible to the Year 4 Swim Gala on Friday 20 June from 9.00 to 12 noon at HKU Stanley Ho Swimming Pool. Parents should go directly to the spectator area on the balcony with a great view of the finish line between 8.45 to 9.00 am.
All the Year 4 students will swim on the day in events selected by the swim coaches based on their abilities shown in this term's swimming block.
The Year 6 Swim Squad will also showcase their swimming skills between 10.20 to 11.00 am. Parents of the Year 6 Swim Squad may come to watch the children swim at this time.
Please note that as students will be scoring points for their House, it will be helpful if the swimmers wear swim hats in their House colours.
Please see the information booklet below for a full rundown of the event:

Kennedy Year 6 Football v WIS Year 7
Last Friday, our Year 6 boys and girls footballers played so well in the friendly football matches against Year 7 students from West Island School. On a day of testing weather conditions, we were very proud of the performances of all four of our teams. The Boys Year 6 A team played two games and finished with a win and a draw. Our Boys B team had a win and a defeat. Our Girls A team had a defeat and enjoyed playing together in a mixed teams friendly match together and the Girls B team drew and also played a mixed friendly second game. Thank you to everyone that came to support our students. Your support was much appreciated
Awesome Kennedy Cheer Squad
We are very proud of our Dance and Movement Club performers who have put on some fantastic performances recently for our students in the school assemblies and also in their final performance at ESF Glenealy School on Wednesday. Thank you to all of the staff who have given up their time to help to provide the fantastic sporting opportunities we offer at our school. Go Kennedy!
Here are some students who have excelled at sport outside of school:
Hayson Yue (5F)
Hayson clinched first place in the “Singapore Junior Development Tour - International Series” golf tournament on 9-10 June. This was the first time Hayson participated in a golf tournament held in Singapore. It was very competitive, with a lot of very talented and skilled junior golf players involved.
Harry Mistry (2D)
Well done to Harry (2D) who recently came second in a Parkour competition. Harry was second in both the speed and skill round, and second overall. Go Harry!
Many thanks to the 96 children who participated in the Birthday Book programme this year. To learn about it, please click HERE.
Thank you for a wonderful year!
All of us at the Kennedy School PTA would like to thank our brilliant community for your support and involvement throughout the year.
Thanks to the success of our Festive Fair, we were able to fund:
- New sensory items for classrooms and The Nest
- Fun new furniture for Years 1 to 4
- weighted toys and floor sets for all years
- Contribute to ongoing improvements like shading for the Early Years playground
- Plans for a rooftop garden on the East Wing next term. The new roof garden is going to be a big focus for us at PTA and we look forward to sharing more details next term!
Thanks to our Dress Up Days, students across all year groups enjoyed some super special experiences, including the Discovery Dome space exploration (Year 6), art workshops with El McColl (Year 4), Katie Flowers (Year 1 & 3), and Gail Deayton (Year 5), and a visit from Animal Adventures (Year 2). These activities gave our children an extra sprinkle of creativity and curiosity in their learning.
We also celebrated together at our much-anticipated Quiz Night, and PTA-sponsored Lunar New Year dragon dance. We funded Christmas candy canes for Year 1, graduation gifts for Year 6, coffee mornings for new joiners, and a special Staff Appreciation Day – all made possible with your support.
We are so proud of what’s been achieved this year. It has zoomed by in a flash. For now, we wish you a restful summer break, and we look forward to welcoming you back next term!
Stay safe, have fun, be kind.
