Dear Parents and Caregivers,
What a magical experience we all shared at Tell Me a Story, the spectacular Year 2 Show!
On Wednesday morning, the Hall was packed with families, eager to see their little ones shine, and what a wonderful job they did! The students took the audience on a learning journey, using big, confident voices to tell stories, perform dances, and showcase their talents in drama and music. Their energy and clear story telling about how to use attributes of the learner profile to be better people was a great way to captivate the entire audience!
A huge congratulations to all the talented Year 2 students and a big thanks to the Year 2 teachers and educational assistants, ICT team, and our Expressive Arts teacher, Ron, for guiding and supporting this amazing show.

Running Friendly v Glenealy @ Happy Valley
On Tuesday, we travelled to Happy Valley Racecourse to take part in some friendly Year 4 and Year 5 running races with ESF Glenealy School. This was a great racing experience for the students who have been training in our morning running club. Our Year 4 students ran 1.8 km and Year 5 students 2.6 km. Special mentions to winners Faidra Hon (4O), Odon Szentes (4O), Abby Wilson (5M) and Laurence Hyde (5F)in their respective races. These friendly races set us up nicely for our Term 2 running club where we will have lots of interschool racing competitions.
Football Friendly v QBS
Last Thursday, our Y5/6 footballers played against ESF Quarry Bay School in a series of boys and girls football friendly matches on HKU Pitch 1. All teams were very successful and played with high levels of skill and determination. All 3 boys teams won very convincingly as did our 2 girls teams too. This goes to show that the hard work and dedication to morning training is really paying off for our students.
KS Vs WIS Y7
Next week on Tuesday 2 December, the A teams from Kennedy School and West Island School (Year 7) will also play a friendly football game at HKU. This will be good practice for our players to build up to our next tournament which will be on Thursday 4 December against HK Island and Kowloon side schools. I will be in touch with the parents of players involved in these events very soon.
All Term 1 Sports ECAs have concluded
Please note that this week is the last week of sports based ECAs. We will be starting again from the week beginning 12 January. Please check the newsletter next week to see what is available and carefully read the registration procedures to secure your child’s place in the club.

More Festive Fair News
We welcomed over 2,000+ participants to the Festive Fair this year, and we’re thrilled to share that — after tallying up all the coupons — the Festive Fair and Concert raised an incredible: $115,000+
A special shout-out to Steak King, who generously donated $16,490 in profits from the BBQ they managed as well as 15% of sales ($2,700) from their butcher stall — a remarkable total of $19,190. We’re so grateful for their continued support of our school community.
Every dollar raised will go towards initiatives and improvements that directly benefit our children, adding that extra cherry on top and making our children’s school days even more special.
This year, we set out four key goals for our fair:
• Financial: Reach $100k net profit while balancing community building and fundraising
• Community Building: Celebrate our students and showcase their work and amazing talents
• Kids’ Experience: Make sure every child left feeling like they had an absolute blast
• Parent Engagement: Encourage parents to get involved and volunteer
We’re proud to say we exceeded our financial target and truly felt the spirit of community, creativity, and joy throughout the event. The one area we’d love to grow is parent volunteering. Our amazing volunteers are the heartbeat of the Fair, and with a few more hands next year, we can make the event even more magical! If you enjoyed the Fair, please consider joining us in 2026 — it's fun, rewarding, and a wonderful way to be part of the school community!
Teachers are already busy creating their wish lists for how to best spend the raised funds, with plenty of input from the students. Stay tuned to see the exciting projects we’ll bring to life together!
And a big CONGRATULATIONS to Henry Liu (2R), winner of the Guess How Many competition with a guess of 2000! We hid 2153 lego into the jar. Henry, please visit The Space by the PTA to collect your jar of LEGO.
Favourite Book Character Dress Up Day (Friday, 5 December)
Kennedy School is famous for our resident bookworms, and this is your time to shine! Come dressed as your favourite book character and celebrate the magic of stories, heroes, and creativity.
We kindly ask each student to bring a $20 donation, which will support the Year 2 fund and help provide something special for the entire year group to enjoy.
Don’t miss this chance to bring your character to life and join in the fun!
Volunteers needed
The Fair might be over but we do need help to make the East Wing Roof more beautiful. It is gorgeous weather and perfect for spending time outdoors. If you have an hour or 2 to spare, please contact Georgina at pta@kennedykidshk.com. We need help to fill 3 big bean bags, unbox 4 planters for Year 1 and to spraypaint 4 existing seats. Thank you so much in advance!
Uniform Donation Request
We kindly ask families to donate any unused uniforms, in good condition, to the PTA Space. Many parents are looking for pre-loved uniforms for their children, and your contribution will make a big difference.
Donations can be dropped off at the PTA Space. If the Space is closed, please leave them at the Reception. Thank you for supporting our school community!
PTA Space Hours Week of December 1, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:30-3.00 pm.
