Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Thank you for your support over the last week or so as we navigated and modified a few events on our school calendar. We have ensured school life has maintained routine and learning has continued as planned which has been important for our young learners.
You will be aware that our ESF community will come together this Friday, 5 December for our We Stand With Tai Po - ESF Fundraising Day. All ESF schools and offices will join this united effort, and we are committed to doing our very best to raise as much money as possible to help those whose lives have been so drastically impacted. All funds collected will be donated directly to the Hong Kong Government’s Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. This fund is dedicated to providing vital assistance to the affected residents in rebuilding their homes and securing the long-term ongoing support they will need to recover and rebuild their lives.

Getting to Know West Island School
We maintain an excellent relationship with West Island School (WIS), our associated secondary school. The WIS Leadership team will visit Kennedy to provide information about their school to parents.
There will be three sessions
The first two sessions are open to all parents of Year 3-6 students.
The final session is only for Year 6 parents.
Please check this link to find out more and to enrol in the sessions. The first in-person coffee morning session will be held at Kennedy School on Friday 9 January from 8.30-9.30am.
Plant Sale
Thank you all for your support of the Christmas plant sale. We raised $1130 which will be used for plant equipment and tools in the East Wing Roof Garden.
Flu Vaccinations
The flu vaccinations for students whose families opted into the scheme took place today. We understand that the timing was a little late, and we will endeavor to schedule it earlier in the term next year.
A big thank you to our Nurse, Brigette, and the admin staff for managing the substantial logistics involved in this important programme work. We are pleased to be able to offer this service and hope it helps to reduce illness in the school community next term.
Lost Property
Please check our lost property boxes for any missing items. The boxes will be emptied during the school holidays.
Uniform
As the weather is likely to be cooler when we return from the holiday break, please ensure your child has the appropriate warm Kennedy School uniform items to wear to school. Please use this link to order any additional items.
Kind Regards,
Brenda

Football Friendly v WIS
On Tuesday after school, our Boys Football A team and West Island School Year 7 played in a competitive friendly football game at HKU. Our A team played really well despite losing 6-2. This game was much closer than the scoreline suggested. It was great to give our students the opportunity to play with WIS and it really helps with our students' transition from primary to secondary school. This was also an excellent preparation for our players to build up to the HKPSSA Football Championships on Thursday 4 December against HK Island and Kowloon schools. Next week, we will share the results from the final tournament of this year.

Boys Netball at Wong Chuk Hang
On Wednesday, we took a team of five Year 5 and 6 boys to represent an ESF “Barbarians Team” to play with Glenealy School students in the Island HKPSSA Boys Netball Tournament. Our students did very well in their first taste of competitive action against other schools and played in good spirit in all five of their matches. Thank you to Ms Fox for her help in coaching the boys team and managing them on the day.
ECA changes for Term 2
Due to the change in the availability of the HKU pitch and WIS pool, bookings for some of our Term 2 ECAs have changed as listed below. All other clubs remain unaffected:
We are delighted to share that all students in Years 4, 5, and 6 will be engaging in class reading activities ( the Year 6 have already started). To ensure each child has their own copy of the novel, the school has arranged a bulk purchase, making it both cost-effective and convenient for you. Once they have finished reading at school, students will bring their books home to keep.
The costs per student are as follows:
Year 4- Boy Overboard- $66
Year 5- The Wild Robot- $61
Year 6- Impossible Creatures- $75
If you prefer to provide your own copy of the novel, you are more than welcome to do so. Please just inform your child’s class teacher if you choose this option and we will adjust the epayment. Invoices for the novels have been sent through the epayment system.

ESF Chess Competition
We would like to invite students to participate in the ESF wide Chess Competition on Saturday 24 January 2026.
Please see this letter for more information.

We have POSTPONED our Dress Up Day originally scheduled for this Friday, 5 December. We will update you soon with a new date.
East Wing Roof Helpers Needed
Th
ank you to parents Lorna Wilson and Jackie Chien, the volunteers who helped fill East Wing Roof bean bags, the children were overjoyed with more places to relax and reflect. We still have a few items to assemble and fill. If you have an hour or 2 to spare, please contact Georgina at pta@kennedykidshk.com. Thank you so much in advance!
Uniform Donation Request
We kindly ask families to donate any unused uniforms, in good condition, to the PTA Space. Many parents are looking for pre-loved uniforms for their children, and your contribution will make a big difference.
Donations can be dropped off at the PTA Space. If the Space is closed, please leave them at the Reception. Thank you for supporting our school community!
