Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We have so much to look forward to with our upcoming sports days, which are always a major highlight on the school calendar. Our Year 4 students have been entertaining us all week with their talent show; we have been so impressed by their skills, and I know Year 4 parents will love seeing the show tomorrow.
Beyond the classroom, it is a busy weekend for our athletes as well, with basketball and running events happening across ESF over the weekend.
Please also remember that tomorrow is a dress-up day, as is the following Friday. There is certainly a lot going on at the moment over and above all, the fantastic learning happening in school!
Getting to Know West Island School (4 Feb)
We are delighted to continue our Parent Information Workshop Series presentations involving the West Island School Leadership team. CNY Carnival Dress-Up Day (9 Feb)
In little over a week, we will be celebrating the Lunar New Year at our upcoming Chinese New Year Carnival. We invite the children to join the festivities in their favourite festive costumes or comfortable casual clothes. Whether it’s a traditional red outfit, a dragon-inspired costume, or simply clothes that make them feel ready for fun, we want to see everyone’s personality shine! Here are the details of the carnival:
Date: Monday, 9 February
Dress Code: Festive costumes or Casual wear
Donation: We suggest a $20 donation to help support our special CNY Carnival activities and create a "cherry-on-top" experience for the children.
ECA Reminders
This is a reminder that students should be collected promptly from the lower playground at dismissal. Once collected, children must leave the school premises directly with their guardian and should not remain in the playground.

Student Highlight
We would like to congratulate Juahn Kim (6C) who participated in and won the Championship at the inaugural Hong Kong Primary Schools Debating Championship (HKPSDC), co hosted by Capstone and Malvern College Hong Kong. He proudly represented Kennedy School and spoke eloquently. Well done Juahn!

West Island School Bazaar
And lastly, our neighbours up the road at West Island School would like to invite our community to their annual Bazaar on Saturday 14 March 2026. Please review the posters below!

Have a restful weekend!
Kind regards,

Busy Weekend ahead!
Good luck to our Y5/6 Boys Basketball Team competing in the HKPSSA Island Basketball Tournament on Saturday. It is the first game of the season with matches lined up against ESF Bradbury, Quarry Bay, CIS and GSIS. Many thanks to Coach Jason and Zeng Laoshi who have been busy preparing our students.
On Sunday, we will take a strong team of runners to compete in the HKPSSA Island Cross Country Event at Chinese International School. Girls and boys from Year 3 to Year 6 will be competing in teams of 6 against other international schools across Hong Kong island. Thank you to everyone who helps to train our students in our popular morning running club.
Go Kennedy!

Upcycle Project – Mini Play house for Year 1
PTA administrator Georgina led a creative upcycling project that transformed a discarded dolls house into a valuable learning aid for Year 1 classes. Recognizing its potential, she repurposed the play house to support the unit of inquiry “Who We Are.”
After several layers of fresh white paint and thoughtful restoration, the play house has been given a new life. It now serves as an engaging tool for imaginative play and exploration, enriching the Year 1 students’ learning experience while also modeling sustainability and resourcefulness. If you are spring cleaning and have any items you think would benefit school or curriculum learning for any year group, please contact gadams@kennedy.edu.hk to discuss possibilities.
